( The practice )

Paint is poured, tilted and persuaded — never forced. Each canvas is a slow negotiation between pigment and gravity, sediment and bloom, until the surface settles into something that feels found rather than made.

Working from the studio, Brodie builds layered grounds of acrylic, ink and salvaged paper, letting rivers of colour carve their own course across the canvas.

The result sits somewhere between geology and memory — desert strata, tidal flats and garden tangles rendered in bone, bronze and deep green.

02

Pale Garden

Mixed media & collage on canvas · 102 × 76 cm

A tangle of ferns, teacups and suns drawn in chalk-white over storm grey — a garden remembered at dusk.

Desert Bloom — warm peach and tan fluid painting
03

Desert Bloom

Acrylic pour on canvas · 60 × 60 cm

Peach and umber currents collide in a white seam of light — rain arriving over dry country.

A planet of moss, cellulars of bronze and pearl — the round canvas read as a body seen from orbit.
